The biggest problem I have with bags is that they cost the equivalent of about two and a half pairs of shoes (or at least the shoes I tend to buy). I am in L.O.V.e. with the Givenchy Pandora, but the thought of saving up 2 Gs is a little overwhelming. However, splurging for a pair of $600 pumps? Done and done. ever since I bought my first pair of Givenchy heels, I've been fiending for another fix. I'm having a Givenchy moment, you guys. enter the Givenchy Patent Zip Pump, ladylike, classic, edgy and timeless. A reasonable 3 inch heel means I won't be hobbling by the end of the evening and take a closer look at that fabulous zipper edging. I look at shoe buying as curating a collection and when a shoe fills an empty ;slot'in the collection, I'm more likely to splurge. My current black pump collection includes a pair of very prim Kate Spade kitten heels that date back to my days living in conservative Washington D.C. and a pair of sky high black patent platforms that really aren't suitable for daytime. I'm really feeling more 90's shoes lately.I can't help posting a few pictures of Kim everything she does is so minature and cute. She is the funniest dog. Kim's thing is that when she wants attention she does this very gruff nasally three stop grunt. It's remarkably loud. Does anyone else's chihuahua do this? It's too funny!Kim is very comfortable in the car she goes everywhere with us.

Christian Louboutin Lavallier Pumps, $795 via Net a Porter.I feel as though I make some sort of hacky elvis reference every time I write about a pair of blue suede shoes, but this time, I mean it. I would be seriously pissed if anyone stepped on my Christian Louboutin Lavallier Pumps. So much so that I'd probably take one of them off and hit the offending shoe stepper with it, which means that I should never wear a pair of these on the subway, lest I cause a riot.The more I look at these shoes, the more I want to defend their honor with violence. From the front, they look perfectly prim closed, rounded toe, no platform, contrasting trim culminating in a small black grosgrain bow. But from the back, you get the full effect of the 100mm heel and signature Louboutin red sole, which adds a whole different dimension to the shoe's look. They're ladylike and sexy, all in one. For those of you who prefer ladylike shoes with thin heels and dainty straps, it looks as though fall isn't going to be your season and Jil Sander Fall 2011 certainly isn't going to be your collection. You might want to start hoarding stilettos now, just in case they cease it exist at some point in the next few months. Don't say I didn't warn you.Ok, obviously stilettos aren't going anywhere, but the strong bent toward thick, chunky heels and wedges that we've seen during the Fall 2011 shows on both continents may be shocking for women who have embraced skinny, vertiginous heels with open arms and open wallets over the past several seasons. Jil Sander's collection is made up almost entirely of ankle boots with thick wedge heels and nary a bit of sex appeal in sight. (In fact, all of the shoes featured slots in the wedges to attach a pair of stirrup pants, which are the antithesis of sex appeal.) What these shoes do have, though, is an occasional print keep in mind what I said last week about this being The Season of the Printed Shoe when Paris Fashion Week gets rolling tomorrow.
